JULIO ANGEL ORTIZ, Ph.D.

The purpose of this site is to share both Dr. Ortiz's professional and research interests.  He recently completed his doctoral degree from the College of Information Sciences and Technology at Penn State University.

A Latino from New York City, his research focuses on the social and policy consequences of the production and consumption of information.  Dr. Ortiz's research has been supported by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, the KPMG Foundation, the Ronald E. McNair Foundation, and the Bunton-Waller Program at Penn State.  He received numerous awards for his scholarship, namely, from the Lugano Doctoral Summer School of Systems Design in Switzerland, the Paris School of Management and Entrepreneurship (Advancia), the Dominican Republic's Las Americas Institute of Technology (ITLA), and Penn State.
